Tips On Preparing The Skin For Your Favorite Sun Laboratorie Fake Tanner

By Haywood Raptis

Enjoying a fabulous fake suntan requires more than just reaching for that bottle of Sun Laboratorie tanner. There are certain things that need to be done first, particularly on your skin. Below are some tips on how to avoid a blotchy tan.

Indoor tanning is similar to creating a fabulous work of art. Your skin acts as the canvas and your chosen Sun Laboratorie tanner is the paint. Naturally, the finished product won't look right if the canvas isn't primed for what you put on its surface.

Before you start smearing the content of that Sun Laboratorie tanner bottle on your skin, make sure to exfoliate. The active ingredient in a Sun Laboratorie tanner is DHA, a chemical that promotes darkening of skin by reacting with dead cells present on it. You are bound to encounter a cosmetic misfortune if you apply the tanner over an in irregular layer of dead cells. By exfoliating the skin thoroughly, you are giving DHA a smooth and polished surface to work on.

Try to steer clear of scrub solutions which leave an oily residue. Otherwise, DHA in the Sun Laboratorie tanner won't be able to penetrate the skin and complete its job. Use a sponge or loofah to effectively remove excessive amounts of dead skin cells, paying special attention to the elbows and knees where more of them are present. You may also buy a bottle of Sun Laboratorie exfoliating body gel, a product which is specifically formulated for such important pre-indoor tanning task.

Exfoliate in the shower for best results. Clean skin using a plain bar of soap with no fancy moisturizing ingredients. Rinse with warm water to ensure none of those sloughed off dead skin cells remain. There should be no residue sitting on the skin once you are through showering to ensure that the Sun Laboratorie tanning solution can complete its job as expected.

The removal of unwanted hair is another task that should be carried out before using your Sun Laboratorie tanning solution. It's not unlikely for you to end up with a blotchy fake suntan if you apply the product on a hairy surface. Shave beforehand to remove unwanted hair and provide added exfoliating effect. If waxing is the method preferred, have it done at least a day before tanning.

Dry areas like the elbows and knees tend to absorb more DHA in the Sun Laboratorie tanning product. It's not unlikely for these parts to end up darker than the rest of the body when the full effect of the self tanner shows up. To keep this from happening, apply a thin layer of your favorite moisturizing lotion on these areas to keep them from soaking up lots of DHA.

Put on a pair of gloves during the application of Sun Laboratorie tanner. Doing so saves your palms from coming into contact with DHA which can leave them with a deep brown stain. Besides, the self tanner you are using shouldn't be applied on areas that don't darken when you sit in the sun. In case you are allergic to latex, wear a pair of gloves out of plastic.
