Is it more wise to blend fruits and veggies or blend them with a blender? For people that are trying to eat more health, this is actually a very common question. This is the question that I started researching when I decided that I needed to buy either a blender or juicer? I actually thought that this might have been just a marketing thing that was tactically established to get more from potential customers. So to put my thoughts to rest, I did a lot of research and to my astonishment there were actually many important dissimilarities between the two that made it tough to decide.
Here are the Definitions of Juicing and Blending Together
In making juice with a machine, the heart and soul of fruits and vegetables are drawn out. Blending together is when you put all the ingredients, two or more, into the blender and cut and merge them together to get a thicker, pulpy liquid. Juicing is actually a method to just get the fruits and greens juices drawn out to make a very thin drink like buying apple or orange juice from the store. Blending vs. Juicing
Whether you are making juice with a machine or blending the fact is that you are combining fruits and veggies into liquid form. This is really the extent of the similarities. Here are the main variations between the two techniques:
Juicing separates fiber and leaves it completely out while blending keeps it in the drink for a fuller effect. Thus, juicing produces an almost entirely liquid drink while blending retains the pulp, resulting in a more coarse drink.
Pure juice is easily absorbed in the body and therefore requires less energy. However, blended drinks are more satisfying, and can sometimes be the meal in itself. Juice provides less satiety and cannot stand alone as a meal, unless you are doing a juice fast.

Blending takes a bit more prep work time and juicing take more clean up time. For example, you will have to core your apples and pears which are a staple base for blending and making juice with a machine, meanwhile with juicing you would literally just put the entire fruit in the machine to extract the juice. Keep in mind that you can use the pulp from the juicing leftovers as base for muffins and other foods so none is wasted. With blending, fresh fruits and veggies are used to get the whole food fiver and vitamins, you get it all. While juicing is mainly for extracting the vitamins, minerals, and natural sugars. Both methods serve there purpose well.
Blending together and juicing produce different results. This does not mean that you have to choose over the other (although this means you have to buy both blender and juicer). Both processes have their advantages and disadvantages. You can reap the benefits of both by alternating them.
